Cbeyond (a leading VoIP company in Atlanta) was my client (under Parallel Marketing) during the peak of their growth. I served them remotely and expanded the role for almost 3 years – growing from an Intranet Manager to the Internal Communications Manager. In May 2011 Cbeyond’s HR Director eliminated all contractors, but invited me to a full-time position with relocation to Atlanta to help the C-Suite further major strategic initiatives tied to their mergers & acquisitions.

Responsible for the day-to-day retail commercial real estate marketing efforts including direct mail, emails and brochures, company website, and CRM content management. Performed market research and prepared marketing materials for broker meetings with prospective clients – buyers and sellers.

Wonderful West Virginia is the state magazine of West Virginia. My internship experience included graphic design, writing, and copy editing (APA, MLA, and Chicago style).

I managed accounts receivables, designed ads, sold ad space, and directed a team of sales representatives. The semester prior to taking the position as directed I conducted an analysis on our advertising department. My research showed, among many other things, that we were inefficient in our marketing collateral (not many people knew about us) and grossly undercharging in comparison to our competition. Because our rates were so low, it gave many potential advertisers the idea that we weren't worth their marketing dollars, even though we reached 10,000 people per week. Upon taking position as Director, I immediately doubled the rates of display ads, overhauled the marketing collateral and reorganized the department. As a result, our net sales actually increased by 70 percent from our historical average net income.

Each year one Mass Communication student from UNCA is selected for an internship with the Asheville Citizen-Times Editorial Department. (The AC-T is a Gannett newspaper.) I was chosen for the Autumn 2004 season. My responsibilities included: processing Letters to the Editor, copy-editing, and writing editorial columns.
