Dr. Sara Bufferd’s Child Emotion Lab uses behavioral, physiological, interview, and self-report measures to delineate typical and atypical development in early childhood, with the aim of informing assessment and determining how developmental trajectories relate to risk for psychopathology. I was interest interested in the relationship between children’s irritability, sleep habits, and parental depression and anxiety. Based on the understudied nature of these variables in preschool-aged children, I was interested in seeing how parents and children may influence one another’s psychopathology symptoms.
