As part of Dr. Greg Garrard's larger SSHRC-funded Kelownafornia research project, I investigated the role of Beautiful British Columbia magazine in shaping the environmental narratives, landscape aesthetic, and culture that the Okanagan region of British Columbia is known for. In this role, I did the following:- Surveyed the archives of the Beautiful British Columbia Magazine for themes related to environmental and cultural narratives of place.- Organized, labelled, and analyzed relevant articles and images.- Surveyed and synthesized literature around the political, social, economic, and environmental histories of British Columbia.- Presented my research at the 2023 Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE) conference.- Produced a Master's thesis compiling my research findings and analysis.

Course name: Sustainability 104: Introduction to the Environmental Humanities Supervisor: Dr. Greg GarrardResponsibilities:- Led one-hour tutorial sessions for one section per week to help introduce, breakdown, and facilitate discussion around concepts and ideas in the field of environmental humanities and the specific course theme of the “idea of species”.- Organized course Canvas page for easy access to course schedule, reading materials, and assignment instructions.- Provided feedback and grades on three essays, conducted and graded final oral examination.- Supported student learning outside of class through one-on-one office hours to further discuss ideas, workshop essay outlines and drafts, and respond to their concerns and queries.

My role was as an illustrator for the Coexistence Umbrella project to create a commonly used and accessible product that also helps to bring awareness around conservation issues. The product explored the idea of the Elephant as an umbrella species - protecting a whole range of species just by its inherent need for a fairly stable environment - by creating an umbrella with elephant/s on the outside and a world of other creatures (Flora and fauna) on the inside. The role involved creating detailed illustrations of around 10 species of flora and fauna found as part of the ecosystem shared with elephants in the Western Ghats of India.

Course: Literature and the World (FC 0701-2) Supervisor: Dr. Abir BazazResponsibilities:- Structured and led three one-hour small group tutorial sessions with students per week to introduce and familiarize students with modes and tools of literary analysis, develop their critical thinking skills and facilitate student discussion around the texts and themes of the course.- Provided feedback on two short writing pieces and two longer format essays for 40 students to develop and strengthen their language proficiency, as well as their articulation and flow of ideas and arguments.- Supported student learning outside of class through one-on-one office hours to further discuss ideas, workshop essay outlines and drafts, and respond to their concerns and queries.TA Evaluation: Received very positive feedback with a 4.68/5 score on end-of-term student course evaluations.

Hand illustrated 20 species of birds endemic to the Palani hills for the "Birds of Kodaikanal" memory game. This also involved scanning and digital clean of all illustrations.

- Set layout, fonts, and design of text and images on Adobe InDesign for the 120-page book- Contributed illustrations and assisted image editing and cleanup on Adobe Photoshop- Assisted in design and layout of “The People of Palani Hills” pop-up museum exhibition presented by INTACH Kodaikanal.
