I was a Project Officer cum Research Assistant at Research Center for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change of Asian Management and Development Institute (AMDI-Vietnamese NGO). I had nearly a year working as a project assistant for The Community-Based Disaster Risk Management Project both in rural and urban settings which was funded by USAID/OFDA and the Anne Ray Charitable Trust. The project aimed at reducing the number of deaths, injuries, and socio-economic impacts from disasters by fostering safer communities in Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Son La provinces of Vietnam. Also, the program built resilience for these beneficiary locations under the context of more complicated climate change both nationally and internationally. With this position, I am responsible for: • Supported to conduct community-based assessment vulnerability and local resources to cope with natural hazards and to provide assistance and propose appropriate solutions for each specific location. • Collected numbers, input data, cleaned data and used SPSS, Excel to save within project activities.• Participated in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) design, development and implementation, including preparation of questionnaires and surveying, training of provincial and municipal Red Cross, government and L/NGO staff and helped to produce standardized, timely and accurate monitoring reports• Provided documentation and consolidation of the result from Urban Community based Disaster Risk Assessment, including good practices, lesson learnt, case studies, ...• Supported the identification of capacity-building and training needs of Red Cross staff and partners; collaborated on the design and conducted capacity-building activities as needed, including occasional workshop facilitation. • Participated, assisted and guided awareness raising activities among communities about natural disaster prevention and control .Website of American Red Cross for your information: http://www.redcross.org/
