Nominated to serve in this role for six months, through the United Nations Association in Canada.Synthesized migrant health-related policy documents for the Migration Health Department (MHD).Monitored and evaluated customer care to migrants at the Migration Health Assessment Centre.Created 3 new Standard Operating Procedure documents for staff of the MHD.Developed up to 12 public health promotion reports, mainly on the factors (included universal health coverage) needed to improve migrants' access to healthcare in Ghana. Engaged with Ghanaian government officials on reducing the occurrence of irregular migration.Booked medical appointments for up to 531 migrants from West and Central African countries.

This was specifically a four-month placement:Undertook in-depth studies of the university’s, Sexual Assault and Other Sexual Misconduct policy — policy 131.Interviewed 8 of the university’s, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO) staff for their feedback on the current policy.Conducted comparative studies between policy 131 and the sexual violence policies of other Canadian universities.Educated 25 UBC staff, students and visitors on the policy.Produced a 7-page report with 8 recommendations, to guide the university on strengthening policy 131.Was part of the representatives consulted by President Santa Ono of the university for feedback, during the search for a new Vice-President for Students. I gave direct advice to the President, during the meeting.

Raised awareness on the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in sub-Saharan AfricaInterviewed persons with experience and knowledge on preventing, controlling and treating NCDs such as mental health illnesses, hypertension etc. Prepared interview excerpts for publishing.Authored reflections on fitness and healthy living under the Hitting Home Series.

Conducted relief funding assessments with a minimum of 50 clients weekly, in the aftermath of a very costly disaster (wildfires).Provided funding to over 1600 affected individuals.Enabled the re-establishment of over 40 families.Referred clients needing long-term assistance, to appropriate social services. Presented to 12 Canadian Red Cross (CRC) donors, on how the CRC had funded and strengthened the capacity of social services (e.g the Food Bank) in Fort McMurray.Received training and certification in Skills for Psychological Recovery from the Canadian Red Cross.

Promoted to this position in November 2015Was part of the executive team that was overseeing over 100 Enactus uOttawa members.Headed the Around the World team of 4 regional coordinators representing Africa, the Americas, the Arab regions and Asia.Co-created business training modules.Initiated partnerships with small organizations and businesses in target regions.Served in an advisory capacity to the regional coordinators for Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Arab regions.

Conducted thorough research on the methods that were available to keep Supreme Court judges in Canada to account.Analyzed and synthesized information from the Constitution of Canada, the Judges Act and the website of the Canadian Council of Judges.Issued a lengthy and thorough final report to the organization, on the state of the ethical mandates for Supreme Court judges in Canada.

Made life in a new country easier for a student that arrived from abroad, by being available to answer questions, provide a tour of campus and information on key services in the City of Ottawa, Canada.

Carried out a series of research to find the core areas of need in Calgary and abroad, and ways through which help could be rendered. Participated in organizing a fundraiser to provide water for communities lacking clean water in Latin America. The funds were given to the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST).
