Developing parallel software for HPC industrial data processing for depth imaging and inversion in the oil and gas segment. My duties include developing new features both in the structured and object oriented software paradigms, optimization via code vectorization, testing and continuous integration system management, bug fixing in production.
The research activity focused on the finite element simulation of the electrodynamics of the plasma flow around a hypersonic re-entry vehicles. The linear problem to be solved to obtain the finite elements solution showed convergency issues due to the anisotropic nature of the physical problem.This difficulty has been overcome by developing a new relabeling strategy for the mesh nodes, sensitive to the magnetic field direction, that is, to the anisotropy of the physical problem. To improve the accuracy of the electric field, evaluated as the gradients of the finite element solution, the Superconvergent Patch Recovery technique has been adopted and implemented. The numerical results are well accord to the experimental data.The thesis is titled "Numerical strategies for the solution of the magneto-fluid-dynamic problem at Low Magnetic Reynolds Numbers."
