As one of three webmasters at Temple University, Japan Campus, my role is quite diverse. My primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) creating landing pages, redesigning existing pages and updating time-sensitive content. In addition to these, I am also responsible for creating digital marketing such as HTML email blasts and newsletters (primarily using Foundation), web banners (Photoshop and Illustrator), and promotional video ads (Premiere Pro).Because our team is small, I typically see web projects from start to finish. This includes proposing new projects to department heads, designing wireframes, coding projects (HTML, CSS, Javascript and on occasion PHP), getting feedback from relevant parties, debugging and optimizing for accessibility. In addition to developing the front-end of our site, I also develop internal scripts or web apps to streamline processes and increase efficiency. For example, our PR person internally logs media mentions associated with our university or its faculty members. I created a script which generates tweets and prepares email text from the data she inputs. The result of this project was an increase in Twitter followers and a higher level of engagement. I also develop and contribute to a number of custom WordPress plugins and internal web apps. Many of these projects have helped our team to automate tasks and ultimately, save time.Additionally, from time to time I am also responsible for creating video and written content. This includes shooting student interview and staff/faculty/VIP discussion videos, writing articles for our News section, and coming up with user-friendly content which caters to our various departments.Overall, the diversity of my role at TUJ has allowed me to gain a wide variety of skills, and has helped me to hone in on my ability to research new technologies and quickly implement them. My experience here has been invaluable and I am very grateful for the opportunity I have been given.

As an Assessment Instructor, I taught business level English to Japanese professionals. After working with the company for roughly 6 months, I also began giving in-house lessons to medium/large companies around Tokyo. Furthermore, within my first year, I began demoing lessons to potential students as part of an onboarding process (something that only instructors who have been with the company for over one year typically do). Some of my main responsibilities were to monitor and assess the progress of my students, to prepare lessons for my various out-services and, of course, to teach standard Berlitz lessons.

My role at T-mobile was both sales and administrative. My primary responsibility was to meet monthly sales goals, of which I always excelled. In fact, I was the top sales representative in my store for the 2013 fiscal year. Additionally, I made sure to build lasting relationships with my customers to ensure their customer experience was always above average. My administrative tasks involved training and mentoring new associates as well as meeting with vendors and manufacturer representatives in order to keep my store up-to-date on the latest wireless technologies. I also performed daily audits, maintained daily customer logs and performed opening and closing procedures. When I began this role, our store consistently ranked within the bottom 5 stores in our district. But after roughly one year, our team grew to consistently placing within the top 3 in our district.

As customer service manager, I supervised about 20 front end associates. This included scheduling, performing daily audits, coaching, overseeing compliance related transactions, and helping cashiers or stockers with their responsibilities when necessary. I also handled all customer issues and inquiries, including resolving customer complaints, issuing overrides on policy when necessary, working with loss prevention to apprehend shoplifters in a non-confrontational manner, and maintaining an efficient front-end to minimize waiting time. This was my first full-time role after graduating high school. I began as a cashier and quickly worked my way into a customer service role. After some time, I was given the opportunity to work as Customer Service Manager, where I essentially contributed to all areas of my store. One important task which was never written on paper was keeping morale high. This involved getting to know my staff and becoming a leader which they could trust and respect. I am proud to say that while in this role, the cashiers and other front end staff never hesitated to turn to me for guidance.
