[Shonell's Mission]Because I know of the freedom, the joy, and the love of self I feel when participating in creative endeavors, my mission is to reach and teach others to use their creativity and words to be better writers, communicators, and, ultimately, better versions of themselves. By “being better,” they are able to feed their minds, bodies, and spirits, thus reflecting creative spirits that will then reach and teach to those they connect with.[About Shonell]Shonell is a creative evangelist, particularly in regard to how we fashion words to make meaning and impact.She is an author of women’s fiction, mysteries, and rom-coms that leave readers satiated and hungry for more. At the heart of everything she writes creatively, readers will find broken women made strong through their determination and actions.She has been an editor and educator for 20 years. Through her company ChickLitGurrl, she edits in a wide range of areas, to include fiction (multiple genres), non-fiction (academic, creativity, inspirational, self-help), academic (dissertations, proposals, papers, theses), and trade (articles and studies for journals and magazines). From 2014 to 2017, she served as a copy editor for STC’s academic journal Technical Communication, and in 2017 and 2018, she worked as an editorial assistant to STC’s magazine INTERCOM.As an educator, Shonell has taught English and mass communication courses in the university setting; courses taught include Writing for the Media, Management in New Media, Writing for Public Relations, Emerging Media Practices, English Composition I and II, and Advanced Grammar. Shonell started ChickLitGurrl U in 2018, and the first class from it based on her book Make Your Writing Bloom began in January 2019.In late-2019, Shonell added a new title to her creative space: digital creator (digi-creator). As the owner of the Etsy shop, #HUGSlove Studios, where she sells digital planners, journals, notebooks, pages, and other accessories.
