Hi, I am a senior at Princeton University pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis in architecture and structural engineering. My passions lie in seismic design and damage mitigation through innovative design techniques. During my time with Dr. Garlock's CRUE research group, I have learned the design of steel plate shear walls with a low frequency sinusoid (LFS) form. This experience provided me exposure to seismic force resisting systems, finite element analysis, and structural analysis of steel structures. I have also researched with Dr. Branko Glišić's SMH research group and Dr. Nicos Makris of SMU, where I developed a program to simulate the rocking behavior of a free-standing, slender column under various ground movements. This experience provided me insight into the marvels of base (rocking) isolation in efforts to minimize base shears and plastic moments, as well as dynamic analyses governing the design of inverted pendula-type structures.During my time working for KPFF Consulting Engineers in the DTLA office, I have acquired invaluable experience in the design of (non)equipment anchorages, retaining walls and other site structures, AASHTO and CALTrans specific design codes, and was introduced to bridge design through an intern design project. My time at KPFF provided exposure to softwares like SAP2000 for Modal Spectral Analysis, Dynamic Response Analysis, Equivalent Static Analysis, SPColumn, ENERCALC, MathCad, Hilti Profis, Bluebeam, and detailing/markups. On campus, I am actively involved in service-oriented organizations and programs, where I provide mentorship and advising resources, as well as collaborate with nonprofit organizations to advance and improve the lives of disadvantaged communities and individuals.

Peer Academic Advisor (Paa)Whitman College — Princeton University Jul 2023 - PresentI help foster an academic community within Whitman College through mentorship of underclassmen. During the summer, I oversee and manage ClassPath, a virtual immersive curriculum tailored to introduce first year students to Princeton academics (our departments, rigor, advising, and course enrollment). In the academic year, I serve as a resource to help students acclimate to Princeton's academic rigor and pace. I will hold a series of study breaks, office hours to help students ease to their classes, as well as assist in their course enrollment to ensure students get the most out of their class selections.

Matriculate Advising FellowMatriculate Dec 2021 - PresentPrinceton, New Jersey, United StatesWork one-on-one with high-achieving, low-income high school students to facilitate their college application process. With references to a central curriculum, we tailor our resources to provide students with the best access to information to help them apply, gain admission to, and excel at elite institutions. -
Advising Fellow Leadership Team (Aflt)Matriculate Aug 2022 - May 2023Facilitate the recruitment, interview, and selection process of the next cohort of advising fellows. Help head advising fellows oversee the cohort, conduct meetings, and ensure that advisors provide quality resources to high school students. -
Campus Visit AmbassadorPrinceton University Office Of Undergraduate Admissions Feb 2022 - PresentPrinceton, New Jersey, United StatesWelcome prospective students and visiting families at the Admissions Information Center. I help the Office of Undergraduate Admissions conduct TigerTalk virtual information sessions, Princeton Preview, speak on student life on panels, promote the university's resources, and in the summer, I provide campus tours.

Structural Engineering InternKpff Consulting Engineers Jun 2024 - Aug 2024Los Angeles, California, United StatesI assisted with various projects pertaining to (non)equipment anchorages, site structure design (retaining walls), detailing structural designs, mark ups of structural drawings, reviewing steel shop drawings, and provided calculations to reaffirm structural design choices made by project managers. I also designed a two span, steel truss pedestrian bridge as part of the Intern Design Project (IDP), a company-specific task meant to introduce new interns to the design practices of the company/industry. The IDP consulted AASHTO and CALTrans Design codes, utilized Modal Spectral Analysis, Equivalent Static and Dynamic Response Analyses, and nonlinear pushover analysis when designing the two column bent beam system. -
Undergraduate Student ResearcherCreative & Resilient Urban Engineering (Crue) Lab Jun 2023 - Aug 2023Princeton, New Jersey, United StatesUnder the guidance of Professor Maria Garlock and PhD candidate Parfait Masungi, I researched the strength and behavior of shear walls, a seismic force-resisting system, with a low-frequency sinusoidal (LFS) form. The LFS shear walls builds upon previous research conducted on LFS steel plate bridge girders, which has been shown to be stronger at withstanding seismic loadings and shear compared to traditional flat or corrugated girder plates. My project relied on finite element analysis and Abaqus, a modeling/simulation software, to assess how a LFS plate shear wall performed under pure shear compared the traditional flat plate. I used a parametric study, where I tested several models with different thicknesses, frequencies, and boundary conditions. From this study, I discovered that the LFS plate, at its lowest frequency of 2, given the same thickness and boundary condition, achieved double the shear strength of the flat plate, with its highest frequency of 5 achieving greater than 10 times the shear strength of a flat plate.

Stockton ScholarStockton Scholars Jun 2022 - Aug 2022Worked on creating resources tailored towards professional development as well as internship/job opportunities for Stockton Scholar graduates under the newly implemented Career program. Conducted research on colleges within/near the Stockton community to gain a better understanding of the different fields of study Stockton Scholars pursue as well as the career resources their school offered them. Created 2 databases from college research, provided approximately 15-20 internship opportunities, and drafted 5 professional development resources that were proposed to the program for implementation.
