I love working for NIC. Everyday I am learning and using new technologies to solve problems for our partners. It is a pleasure working for a company that cares so much for their employees. As a member of the Product Support team I am working on developing solutions to automate daily operational processes, working on scripts to send and receive NACHA files between major financial institutions, and supporting several .Net and Java applications to make sure current customers stay connected and potential customers can seamlessly integrate with our core products. I have really had a chance to improve my SQL skills on a daily basis by manually updating financial records and using data to answer questions for our partners and other teams at our company. I have also gotten to know the Unix terminal and have enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Python and scripting in the Unix Shell.

As a developer for Paladin Pursuit, I am working on some exciting projects. We are currently developing a warehouse management application and upon completion I will be moving into projects for a food service organization and an online radio company. We are getting the opportunity to use some great technologies like C#, MVC, ASP.NET, SQL, LINQ, Web Services, and Windows Communication & Presentation Foundation to develop solutions for our customers. Big things on the horizon for Paladin Pursuit!

Crosstown Station was my brainchild and I left the corporate sector in 2004 to begin the process of planning, financing, and building this 12,000 sq. ft concert venue & event space. Opening our doors in 2007, we were one of the first businesses to open in conjunction with the large urban redevelopment that included the Sprint Center and the KC Live District and focused on revitalizing the area as a central entertainment district. A Small Business of the Year finalist (KC Chamber of Commerce 2009 and 2010) and reviewed by many as the premier concert hall of its size (Tim Finn - KC Star) Crosstown Station played host to many exciting artists and events during our tenure. Some of those events such as Rock'n'Fashion Show & Flex Fridays were unprecedented in Kansas City. Others like Pecha Kucha Night and the Royals' Legends Luncheons were taken to new heights once joining forces with our venue. We also had the pleasure and opportunity to work with some great area organizations like The Downtowners, Fishnet Security, the KCADC, Centurians, EventKC, and the ACLU on fundraisers and corporate events. Some of the amazing artists we were most proud of bring into Kansas City included Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Glenn Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Martin Sexton, Emmitt-Nershi Band, DJ Logic, The Civil Wars, The New Mastersounds, Roger Kline & The Peacemakers and too many more to list. It was truly a venue that brought the magic out of those who performed there.Upon closing our venue operation in late 2011, I continued to promote concerts, events and music festivals independently throughout 2013. I also spent some of my time consulting bands and other operations centered around the music industry.

I began the process of agency ownership in March of 2013. Passed the Missouri Life & Health, as well as Property & Casualty exams, to become licensed in Kansas & Missouri to sell home, auto, life, and commercial insurance. I am currently located in the North Kansas City area, but service and sell into homes and businesses throughout the states of Kansas and Missouri.

At Fishnet Security I was a member of the Inside Sales Team, but worked more independently and with our Outside Sales Representatives to ensure that all subscriptions and renewal services were being updated and resold to those prospective clients. This was a large part of the continued growth of a very fast growing company. I developed new strategies and spreadsheets to help keep track of these large accounts and their overwhelming amount of information required to renew the accounts. I developed more visually recognizable systems for identifying expiration dates, un-renewed accounts, etc. that helped members of inside and outside sales teams to work more cohesively and ensure that no potential renewal money was left behind in this growth state focused on new business and new sales opportunities.
