About Chirag S.

In this era of tech, products and machines that connect us to the physical environment are becoming scarce - yet more integral to our experience. It was the pursuit of the question ‘how things work’ that led me to Mechanical Engineering and now drives me to ‘make things work’ in practice. During my time at UC Berkeley, I worked on several exciting projects including building a 3D Scanner using computer vision processing and modeling optimum solar panel performance. Since then, I have worked on global energy industry projects - focusing on rotating equipment/machinery engineering design. My experiences spans pumps, compressors, turbines, motors and hydraulic systems in LNG, petroleum refining, gas processing and petrochemical process plants. I have worked on interdisciplinary projects spanning stakeholders in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. My interests include mechanical seals, machinery protection/monitoring systems and fluid system design. The evolving energy landscape will require innovative solutions moving forward and I am enthusiastic about biomass, waste gasification, energy storage and efficiency, and new transportation technologies. I also believe that technology solutions - AI and IoT will leapfrog conventional industries into the future. If you would like to discuss about energy, innovation in machinery or a topic that excites you, please reach out to me at:✎ chiragsoni05@gmail.com✆ (510)-570-5412
