As club president, I spearhead the executive team by drafting a 15-week-long itinerary and facilitating bi-weekly meetings to review deliverables. I also lead the general club meetings which are also bi-weekly and organize weekend events which have ranged from info sessions, guest speakers, and socials to outdoor excursions. To better establish our presence on campus, I've made it a focus of mine to engage in communication with faculty/staff and reach out to other collegiate environmental science organizations and local nonprofits for collaborations. ESSA is a Registered Student Organization at UC Berkeley, and in my time as an officer I have completed signatory and financial agent trainings offered through the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC).

As an officer, I have spearheaded a 4-person web design team by drafting a 15-week-long itinerary and facilitating monthly web team meetings. I have also established and maintained the organization's image on campus by updating our social media and outside of campus through outreach to other collegiate environmental science organizations and local nonprofits. Additionally, I completed training over the summer to become a signatory and an ASUC Financial Agent for the club, meaning I controlled club funds by creating and verifying purchase requests for reimbursements, managed grants, and other funding and projecting semester costs for our budget plan. As a signatory, I take responsibility for everything that happens during our club meetings and outings. As a result, I have experience managing risk at these functions by obtaining liability event insurance, distributing Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreements for off-campus events, and promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment

My main responsibility at the lab has been sieving soil cores from Point Reyes and Blodgett field sites while recording important data involving masses, Gross Water Content, and rock/root contents as well as taking subsamples for carbon-nitrogen isotopic analysis and microbial analysis. I have freeze dried soil samples for a lab in Zurich, Switzerland and assembled vials to use for nickel gas chromatography. Many of these procedures require proper cleaning whose steps may include, but are not limited to making bleach baths, acid washing with hydrochloric and/or sulfuric acid, oven-drying, and sterilizing with ethanol. During my time in this position, I have developed lab safety skills and practiced awareness in the lab by maintaining an alert mind and clear communication especially when there is confusion as to not interfere with the well-being of others or the project. In the summer of 2023, I had the amazing opportunity to gain some field experience, employing point-intercept methods to determine plant cover. In the fall of 2023, I continued to work in the lab and learned how to foil ball soil samples for elemental analysis.

During my time at Sigma Kappa, I served on our philanthropy, banner, and bid day committees, where I communicated tasks effectively with other members in order for things to go smoothly. I volunteered ~15 hours a semester crafting, setting up, and working shifts during our events. Additionally, I assisted our Sisterhood Chair in planning events to promote a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone in the chapter could thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. In February 2022, I was nominated by my chapter to attend the national Emerging Leaders Conference for Sigma Kappa. I was sent to Los Angeles for three days to learn more about teamwork and collaborate with other young women from around the country. I was also elected for a leadership position during our 2022 elections, allowing me to serve on our Executive Committee and as my sorority's representative in meetings with other UC Berkeley sorority chapters as the Panhellenic Delegate. In the fall of 2023, I was selected by our chapter members to be one of the ten seniors on the Slating Committee responsible for appointing the next year's officer team. Being a part of the Senior Slating Committee required deep thought from different points of view, confidentiality for our members, and the chapter's best interest. I was truly honored to be chosen for such an important role.

As the Panhellenic Delegate, I was responsible for the representation of my chapter at Panhellenic-wide meetings that occurred on a biweekly basis. During these meetings, Panhellenic Executives and all of the chapter delegates gave announcements, and I took notes on what to report to my sorority. The updates could consist of a range of topics from finances, scholarship, and DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) to philanthropy, recruitment, and socials. Additionally, it was my job to explain and answer any questions my chapter members had about potential Panhellenic bylaw changes and vote on behalf of Sigma Kappa. With this title, I was also a member of my sorority's Executive Council, meaning I contributed to some important discussions whose decisions affected the whole sorority. Like all council members, I attended weekly meetings with other executives, biweekly meetings with executives and our junior council, and weekly chapter meetings with the whole chapter.

In 2019, I was inducted onto the Board of Directors for Amani Partners Kenya, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that strives to "bring quality, affordable health care and education to underserved communities near Ekerenyo, Kenya”. I am still currently on the board and attend quarterly meetings with the other directors, as well as serve on the fundraising, marketing, and educational committees. Over the past couple of years, I've helped plan two Galas with silent auctions and virtual fundraisers, led board meetings, and given numerous interviews on TV shows (WEHT 25, Midday with Mike) and radio shows (WIKY, Hot 96, WKDQ), along with appearing in documentaries (WNIN – PBS).

In June 2022, I started working at UC Berkeley's International House, a dormitory for International students that houses approximately 600 students. I worked part-time helping run the front desk as a student employee. My daily tasks included opening/closing, taking inventory of sports equipment and various items students can rent out, answering emails and phone calls, responding to residential and visitorial needs such as lockouts and checking in, and logging every important event in a bi-daily shift report.

In Spring 2022, I was chosen by my university to be a Freshmen Orientation Leader. In this volunteer position, I was in charge of planning events where the new students could meet one another, giving tours around campus and the dorms, and educating them on all the resources the school has to offer. I also frequently gave advice on how to get involved with clubs/organizations on campus and answered logistical questions about class schedules, meal plans, and housing for after freshman year. This was a volunteer position in which I was in charge of 50 first-years from 8:00 am to 12:00 am over the course of a week in August. I also attended morning meetings at 7:00 with other Golden Bear Orientation Leaders.

In 2021, I was hired as a summer camp intern at Gwynn Valley. After completing the on-site training with the other counselors, I was promoted to cabin counselor despite being young for the position. During the course of a session, I would supervise 10 girls in a cabin while maintaining an energetic attitude, teach kids ages 4-13 outdoors skills (shelter-building, fire-starting, cooking), lead overnight excursions and hikes, coach kids in swimming lessons and other water activities. I only expected to work for two sessions as I was originally hired as an intern, so I left at the end of June to focus on my other commitments that summer and take college courses through UC Berkeley's Summer Bridge Program.

During my junior year of high school, I worked part-time as a hostess at a local Mediterranean restaurant. Each shift, I collaborated with managers to make seating charts for the evening, greeted customers, and administered to-go orders. In addition, I often delivered food to tables and bussed dishes. During holiday seasons, I embraced more responsibility by working at the company's catering business, tending to guests' needs and communicating information to managers and the kitchen. Unfortunately, I had to step back when COVID-19 started to peak again.
