I am a PhD student with a passion for host-pathogen interactions, and an interest in investigating these interactions as a method of disrupting infection. I am a member of the Nicola lab, in which I research HSV-1 entry mechanisms; a key part of its replication cycle.In my undergraduate career at Smith College, I graduated with high honors in Biochemistry, and had a research focus on potential novel drug candidates regarding the treatment of lymphatic filariasis in the Steven A. Williams lab.I have experience working with BSL-2/2+ pathogens, mammalian and arthropod tissue culturing techniques, RNA purification techniques, fluorescence microscopy, RT-qPCR, and immunostaining techniques (including plaque assays, dot blot, and SDS-PAGE).
