Using my clinical experience I assess what someone needs for rehabilitation in the immediate future, source help and equipment, and then monitor and manage the rehabilitation "package". It is a multifaceted job; client centred and wholistic by definition. I come into contact with many different disciplines.

I was Speech Therapist for the Martha Trust; a residential facility for young adults with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Principal responsibilities were assessing and managing dysphagia issues in residents, developing and maintaining the training of staff in dysphagia management and developing awareness and management of communication issues and strategies. I worked closely with the physiotherapist to develop a multidisciplinary approach where possible.

As a self employed Speech and Language Therapist, I saw children with developmental delay/disorder at my clinic at home. Areas of expertise are phonological delay, developmental coordination disorder, autistic spectrum disorder, stammering, and learning difficulties. I also provided support for children with learning difficulties in school for local county councils. These included special schools for children with more severe difficulties. I devised and delivered training for schools and a local authority.I worked with adults to a lesser extent in the area of voice difficulties, stroke and stammering.

I assessed children and adults on a number of language and speech areas. I compiled detailed multidisciplinary reports with diagnosis of speech and language delay/disorder and reccommendations for treatment and management. I delivered training as part of training programmes delivered by the centre.
