BenBella Books is a fully remote, boutique publisher headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Since its inception in 2001, BenBella has excelled in publishing business, health and nutrition, pop culture and celebrity, and commercial titles. The values that drive BenBella in their innovative, marketing focused approach to publishing are creativity and flexibility. The dedicated marketing and editorial department at BenBella strive to create a partnership with their authors throughout the entire publishing timeline. I was fortunate enough to oversee this process and to support author's manuscripts and the marketing efforts behind the scenes. My main responsibilities at BenBella included coding manuscripts, creating transmittal forms, writing sales copy materials, researching comparative titles, identifying fitting media contacts, drafting media pitches, and compiling art, URL, and QR logs. These regular assignments allowed me to perfect my Excel abilities, enhance my SEO and marketing knowledge, and further develop my writing skills. I am so grateful for the opportunities and experiences that this internship offered, and for the amazing team at BenBella that supported me in growing my skill set.

Welcome to Housing Home Goods Bank is a furniture bank located in the greater Bangor area. Furniture banks are defined as registered charities, not-for-profit organizations or social enterprises designed to provide gently used household furnishings and other home essentials to individuals and families in need at no cost. Since its establishment in 2011, Welcome To Housing has made monumental strides in the Maine community and has expanded to meet the growing needs of this great state's residents. I was fortunate enough to work alongside Chris Olsen, the founder of Welcome to Housing, who is deeply passionate about "helping people in need succeed." My main task throughout this internship was to create a proposal aimed at the Maine Association of Realtors that worked to establish a charitable partnership between the organizations. While fulfilling this responsibility, I also networked with three other organizations to initiate opportunities for expansion and composed continuance materials for future interns to easily transition into work. These duties aided in further developing my keen communication skills, progressing my proposal writing and editing abilities, and expanding my usability testing capabilities.
