I was responsible for Desktop Engineering, Server/Data Center Operations, IP Communications, Infrastructure Application, and Security teams to support a global footprint of 50 locations worldwide. Bain is one of the world’s leading management consulting firms helping organizations with strategic business strategy and operational performance.• Managing both capital and operational budgets for the global Infrastructure and Operations team. Defined goals/projects for the team. • Working with IT leadership, I set the strategy for regionalized data centers around the world. This initiative encompassed many strategic decisions from networks, vendor choices, virtualization, and systems architecture for full redundancy and scalability. • Managed many work streams to upgrade technologies within the firm. This included laptop refreshes worldwide. IP communications with presence/unified messaging, and complete infrastructure technology.• Reorganized the team to scale and to bring increased focus on service and project delivery. • Established and formalized the network team to set architecture standards as the base foundation for all IP based services. This included the build out of a highly redundant regional data center with no single points of failure. Responsible for the performance and manage growth. • Managed every aspect of the IT integration for M&A activities, this included pre-merger assessment for the M&A team.• Managed a team on all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure for a fast growing acquisitive corporate environment. Over my tenure the company grew from 350 end users to 3500 end users. • Responsible for managing all telecom, datacenter and corporate CAPEX plans. This included managing IT expenses from M&A activities. • Responsible for setting vision and goals for IT infrastructure to address various businesses needs around the globe. My team was responsible for designing and managing the infrastructure projects as defined in the enterprise architecture. • Responsible for all aspects of the AD/Exchange 2003 migration from legacy versions of NT, Exchange and Notes Mail.

Major projects included datacenter move from Exodus to Level3 for www.macromedia.com website. Responsible for the networking, CDN, and Load balancing solutions for the public website. Load balancing provided by F5's BigIP. The solution managed 80 DNS queries per second, and 1 Gigabits per minute downloads.Managed technical aspects of HQ move from Cambridge to Newton. Installed Data Center equipment consisted of Cisco layer 3 switches and Compaq Proliant line of servers and SAN. Catalyst 6500 switches with MSFC core routers serve as the network backbone with Gigabit Ethernet. Created private VLANS to manage traffic and segregate functional server roles. Manage all edge equipments, which consist of two Cisco 7206 routers with DS3 Internet connection. PIX 520 in a failover mode manages edge security. Rolled out Remote Access using Cisco 3060 VPN concentrator using both PPTP and IPSEC clients. Authentication is provided via Radius and SecureID.

• Champion new technology implementation. Work with various different IT groups and business groups in implementing new technology. • Worked on a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) project for the enterprise. Investigated and researched appropriate technology for this initiative. The PKI will serve as the focal security model for all application development and shrink-wrap implementations. • Managed a Master Employee directory structure. This is a key infrastructure project that will be necessary for VPN, application development, and Windows 2000 implementation. • Work with the project team from various IT groups to kick-start the initiative. As a project manager I had input on developing the project lifecycle. Part of the plan was to bring the team and general IT staff up to speed on the technologies needed for the project.

• Responsible for maintaining the worldwide NT environment. This included developing procedures and policy for installation, operator maintenance and user management. Migrated the NT servers from legacy hardware to Compaq Servers. • Stabilized the Exchange implementation that was deployed in Europe, the Far East, and Sri Lanka. • Project Manager for European datacenter consolidation. The project included desktop migration, user training, and server consolidation from various European locations to London. Worked as a project manager for deploying System Management Server for the MAST network.

• Managed a team of FTE and external consultants to develop a strategy for a new NT platform supporting 20,000 user accounts. • Migration and co-existence was achieved using FPNW and an in house migration tool for NetWare Bindery to NT Directory Services. • Developed the security model for file resources using NTFS. • Instituted an enterprise operational best practicies methodologies for managing the server infrastructure.• Integrated Exchange 4.0 as a messaging backbone for Microsoft Mail for PC, Microsoft Mail for Macintosh, and Digital All in One. • Managed Exchange Server 5.0 rollout plan and developed implementation process and directory exchange between different mail systems.

Republic of UzbekistanPeace Corps, Small Business DevelopmentPlanned and proposed a network of Information Centers throughout Uzbekistan. Devised a plan to incorporate the Information Center, consisting of E-mail and business databases, into the Peace Corps volunteers' program at their respective sites. Responsible for project coordination and proposal development for funding. Identified prospective partners to maintain the centers. Responsible for setup and training all PCV and local counterparts in computer operations. The operation was accepted by the Eurasia Foundation. The project included setting connections with internet providers, in Moscow.
