I widened my responsibilities from taking care of people matters at the regional level, to look at people processes at the global level. Today I lead a small but mighty HR shared services team to provide a frictionless employee experience. Key results: - Set up a new ticketing system (Jira System Management)- Created new knowledge bases (Confluence) - Revamped our HRIS (Namely) to reflect changes in workflows as a result of the reorganization- Proposed and implemented a new employee file management system (Box) with corresponding folder structure and access policy to adhere to principle of least access. I managed a regional PeopleOps team which was responsible for 80 employees' wellbeing, ran the office operations for Singapore and Philippines smoothly and also took charge of worldwide talent acquisition efforts across the Workato offices. Workato for Workato? True to the Workato spirit of innovation and powering productivity, I work closely with both our HR/PeopleOps and Business Technology teams to re-imagine the role and processes of the HR function in the company. Internally we developed HR workflow automation projects to ease the administrative burdens and increase productivity around talent acquisition, offer-to-new-hire process, leave applications etc. This frees up time for my team to put the 'Human' back in Human Resources, where we can engage with more candidates at a deeper level, and organise employee engagement activities to bring our burgeoning team together.I also overhauled the health and wellness program in Singapore (without increasing the budget!) to provide employees flexibility in choosing benefits that suit their needs in response to their feedback for more autonomy.

Talent Acquisition strategies in Singapore and Philippines- Targeted fresh graduates and mid-level professionals, hiring over 30 people in 2018- Deepened existing, and developed new partnerships with Singapore top tertiary education providers (e.g. NUS, NTU) to position Workato as the go-to company for entrepreneurial students' internship placements via local industrial attachment programme, and overseas placements. - Evaluated ATS options and secured budget to purchase Greenhouse ATS; implemented Greenhouse on a company-wide level, consolidating job openings onto our first careers page. Set up the Philippines office 2 months after joining Workato. - Hired the first 15 people across business functions including the first group of Product Support Analysts, Accounts & Billing, Marketing Operations and HR. - Shaped culture to be distinct from a typical BPO set up. Communicated extensively with employees to ensure that they are aligned with company's self-starter culture. Compliance- Provided advice and assistance on local employment laws & regulations to ensure compliance with statutory obligationsMarketing and events management in Asia-Pacific and Japan region- Roll out of the Digital Transformation and Intelligent Automation 2018 Series in Singapore which comprise panel discussions and hands-on workshops. This was part of our public efforts to prepare Singapore to be digitally-ready. With the Singapore government’s push for a smart nation, diverse IT skills are in high demand in the workplace. Selected to be part of the pioneer cohort of 60 Fellows. The SGLN Fellowship was a 9-month leadership development program designed to prepare Singaporean participants for leadership roles in global organisations.As part of the program, I worked with a team to produce a playbook, "Effective Communication inLeading Diverse Teams". This playbook is a a collection of personal stories for aspiring Singaporeans in global leadership roles to help them reflect and be more culturally sensitive when they lead diverse teams.

I worked with researchers, educators, and civil society in Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK on projects commissioned by the Migrating Out of Poverty Research Programme Consortium (funded by UK Department for International Development). "Financing Migration, Generating Remittances and the Building of Livelihood Strategies: A Case Study of Indonesian Migrant Women as Domestic Workers in Singapore"​ (2012 - 2013)- Collected, coded and analysed data through surveys and in-depth interviews - Produced 2 x Working Papers and 2 x Policy Briefs (lead author on one)Household Survey on Migration in Ponorogo, Indonesia (2013 - 2014) - Assisted with survey design- Reviewed and cleaned up dataset- Analysed the dataset using the STATA software- Produced 1 x Working Paper and 1 x Policy Brief in Bahasa Indonesia (lead author on both)"Structural Conditions and Agency in Migrant Decision Making: A case of domestic and construction workers from Java, Indonesia" (2014)- Designed interview guide- Conducted >20 in-depth interviews with respondents of different migration characteristics in Indonesia - Coded interview transcripts using the NVivo software- Produced 1 x Working Paper and 1 x Peer-Reviewed article in Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies (lead author on both)Intra-household dynamics and youth aspirations in migrant-sending villages (2015 - 2017)- Worked collaboratively to produce a research proposal and obtain ethics approval - Introduced visual methodologies to the project- Conduced >40 in-depth interivews with youth respondents- Produced 1 x Peer-Reviewed article on Geoforum, and 1 Policy Brief exploring the impacts of parent migration on young women's/young people's educational aspirations (lead author on both)In 2017, I joined the Child Health and Migrant Parents in South-East Asia (CHAMPSEA) Wave 2 project where I partook in conceptualising, planning and executing the qualitative fieldwork in Indonesia.

I reviewed the Targeted Parenting Education Scheme (TPES) which was aimed at assisting at-risk clients, and presented recommendations to Senior Management. I also liaised with the PR company to coordinate outreach efforts to widen the pool of employers for youth clients under the care of the Vocational and Reintegration Unit (VRU).
