The Iowa State University Foundation is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to securing and stewarding private gifts and grants that benefit Iowa State University. The organization employs more than 100 staff, including 30 fundraisers who secure in excess of $100 million dollars in gifts and pledges annually. My area of responsibility centered on the Regional Fundraising Team by effectively managing a portfolio of prospects with cross-functional interests and degrees from the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Business, Design, Engineering, Human Sciences, Liberal Arts & Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. Donor interests also included athletics, university libraries, Reiman Gardens, Department for Institutional Research and Corporate and Foundation Relations.During my tenure at the foundation, I effectively:• Secured nearly $7.2 million for facility, program, student, and faculty projects during “Campaign Iowa State”.• Served as the lead development liaison to the constituency units of the College of Engineering and the College of Veterinary Medicine.• Led an emerging geographic team program and established priorities for individual and small group meetings.• Managed leadership giving prospects with a $1 million capacity and above while supporting gifts of $25,000 and above• Educated donors on the multiple gift vehicles of outright annual giving, stock and real estate transfers, charitable trusts, bequests, IRA transfers, donor-advised funds, insurance policies and corporate matching gifts.
