Chris' approach to design began with a background in fine arts. His BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in painting and sculpture gives him a creative eye for composition, line, texture, and form. His MFA in interior design gives him the necessary tools to develop a project with a clear vision for aesthetics as well as satisfying the programmatic needs of architectural design and construction.Along with his formal education, he was exposed to creative thinking in the world of film making. Chris spent fifteen years in the film industry’s art department with job titles ranging from, construction and set dressing, to art director. In 2001 he transitioned from the film industry to real world design and construction. He is currently the owner of a design+build business. Through years of working in the filed, Chris has a working knowledge of the building process, and an understanding of how creative design ideas can be accomplished within a firm budget. He employs the latest architectural design digital technology, Building Information modeling (BIM), and environmental sustainable building techniques to well-designed and crafted projects which form the foundation of his long-standing commitment to quality of the built environment.
