ETL Developer on the 2degrees EIS (Enterprise Information Systems) Team. As part of a small team of developers I have worked on a variety of BAU and Project work. BAU work consists of a mix of both new subject area development work as a result of PMO\Business Requirements, implementation of fixes\alterations to existing ETL process where required, and a variety of EDW Operational\Admin Tasks when required.Highlights of this role so far would include (but is not limited to) being involved in the full migration of our Enterprise Data Warehouse from an Oracle Solution to an IBM Netezza Appliance (maintaining the SAP BODS ETL Layer over the top of the warehouse and accounting for the differences between operating on and connecting to the different appliances, assisting in data migration for a project changing critical behind the scenes systems, and working with a project developer and two project BA's on significant re-development of our EDW ETL Processes to accommodate a change in critical source systems.

Starting out a few months before the launch of 2degrees (with NZ Communications Ltd.) this position included Analysis of Operational and Informational Data, Development, Testing, Implementation and Support of both Interactive and Static Reporting, as well as Operational Support and Maintenance of the reporting application. This role played a part in the birth of the Data Warehouse at NZ Communications\2degrees Mobile. This was undoubtedly the first highlight of my time at 2degrees Mobile, navigating the start up of NZ's third entrant into the Mobile Market, contributing to the immediate drop in mobile pricing in NZ by providing accurate and timely information to key decision makers via our brand new data warehousing and reporting infrastructure, and contributing towards the disruptive innovation that gave Kiwi's some true mobile value.

Progression within NZ Post:2003-2004 Database\Business Analyst - Retail Systems Team, Takapuna2004-2006 Business Analyst – Retail Finance Team – Takapuna2006-2007 Business Analyst – Retail Business Performance Team, Auckland2007-2009 Business Analyst - Business Analysis and Modelling Team sitting under Retail StrategyWorking on a team of three BA’s reporting to the Business Analysis and Modelling Manager. I was responsible for business as usual activities such as Productivity Modelling and Analysis; and Monthly Financial Processing and Reporting, as well as project specific work (data mining, analysis, advisory roles, investigation). In addition, the role entailed the need to build models (MS Access, TM1, MS Excel), and create reporting (custom extracts, processes, right through to building of reports in Crystal\Business Objects, MS Access). As with roles of this nature, problem solving (process improvement) and documentation also played a part. Another key component was the managing of relationships, as our team dealt with all parts of the Retail Business, as well as external Business Units. All of this helped me to play my part in delivering valuable tools and insights to the business.
