Having joined Polestar at its new Greenfield site in 2005 as a Line Leader, I have rapidly developed my career, gaining many transferable management skills as well as having the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development of a multinational site.; Driving continuous operations across a 700,000”ft site. This pivotal role ensures all targets are achieved and products delivered in a time critical environment through a hand on management approach.Managing a team of approximately 250 multi skilled employees across five departments including; pre-press, press, Bindery, Poly Bagging and Logistics.Creating, managing and analysing performance data to establish and implement departmental objectives and targets. Increasing OEE by 5% in the first quarter.Creating, evaluating and Implementing departmental policies and procedures.Senior Site Manager of the 700,000”ft operation on nights and Weekends.Identifying skills, creating and delivering training programs to suite individuals needs through monthly performance reviews and PDP's.Full responsibly for all Human Resources, including absence reviews, disciplinaries, interviews, redundancies and the day to day administration. Management of all agency staff on site.Responsible for weekly departmental audits and evaluation of all Health and Safety documentation, inlcluding assessment and introduction of Risk Assessments, SOP's and toolbox talks in accordance with current legislation.

Following the successful development of the Polystream department I was promoted to Finishing Shift Manager. Managing a team of ten Team Leaders and up to 150 multi-skilled operatives, I ensure the delivery of time sensitive, high profile products and services to a variety of customers. Ensuring all production targets are exceeded, I consistently maintain the required quality within budget and to customer specification. Through the implementation of management applications including Kaizan, 5 ‘s', continuous improvements, KPI's and Kanban systems I achieved enhanced productivity and quality within the department. Developing and introducing new staff training and appraisal methods enabled me to provide clear direction to my team and lead them to attain and frequently exceed targets, maximising productivity, in a fast moving time critical environment. Successes included the development of a cross-functional team, eradicating the need for overtime, and the introduction of a Corrective Maintenance Plan which increased OEE by an average of 6% and resulted in a 9% reduction in engineering and part costs.
