Worked with a group on an EPA funded project to design and fabricate a green roof that will function in arid Phoenix Arizona Environment. Project tasks included: Research on which materials will be needed to for roofs, fabrication of conventional and green roof, mathematical modeling using Matlab, inserting thermocouples in all layers of both roofs and using a data logger to acquire all temperature, humidity and evapotraspiration data from roofs that were placed in an environmental chamber to model Phoenix conditions, troubleshooting all layers to find areas that were in need of improvement, travel to Washington D.C. to present findings to EPA.
