Chris got his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, before earning his MASc from the University of Victoria. This educational background gave him a good foundation for engaging with complex technical issues. Chris is competitive by nature. He is fulfilled by operating at the front end of a team that strives to achieve stretch goals. Armed with a growth mindset, he’s been mentored in all aspects of his life, personal and professional. Whether it be fitness, personal development or business success, he seeks continued education. Twelve years ago Chris started at AML as a Mechanical Engineer. With a heavy focus on product development, he enjoyed the thrill of designing novelty. He displayed a knack for connecting engineering to business outcomes and thus quickly grew to occupy a series of senior roles: Product Manager, VP of Engineering, VP of Instrumentation, and VP of Projects and Services. These roles evolved Chris as a leader, broadening his business views to see results at a larger, multifaceted scale. Chris now fills the seat of Chief Operating Officer.AML had just begun integrating Metronomics at the time of Chris’ arrival. From the get-go, he connected with the systemized approach of Metronomics. Moreover, the coached approach felt like a natural fit. Chris also liked the sharing of knowledge and experience that the methodology fosters: someone has almost always run into your problem and come up with a better solution. By extension, every growth summit and conference has left Chris with new ideas and theories. Chris has high expectations but is very much dedicated to coaching in positivity - just as important as vision, he says, is mood and culture. Chris’ biggest business lesson learned? The people involved are more important than anything else.
