Below are details of a few key highlights:Datacentre Migration Automation Toolkit - Producing a set of tools provided to teams working on a migration to: centralise and distribute datasets, automate the planning of cable layouts throughout a datacentre, search engine for assets and cabling, automated Visio diagram generation showing connectivity, automated rack diagrams, and various other tools.Outsourcing rebid - Identified and made cost saving proposals of over £1 million as the basis of a large contract rebid with a local authority (rebid was successful)Multi-Datacentre Migration - Lead technical architect on a project covering 4 existing datacentres, over 500 servers (over 100 of which are UNIX), over 200 systems and over 90TB of data. It was the largest datacentre migration that Capita ITS had undertaken. Converged Networking and Restricted Environment (IL3) design - Worked on two projects that involved creating a new service offering covering FCoE converged networking and a restricted environment (IL3) solution.Multiple other datacentre migrations - Responsible for the design of multiple datacentre migrations with a variety of challenges. Majority involved moving to a virtualised solution, with a new networking and storage environment, whilst ensuring service stability and handover.Capita IT Services is part of The Capita Group Plc.
