About Chris Cacciatore
I am an aspiring scientist who loves to investigate the world while constantly trying to be a better person tomorrow than I was today. Throughout my four years in high school, I was determined to become successful in the business field. My electives consisted of classes such as: accounting, introduction to business and macroeconomics. I even pursued extra-curricular opportunities in DECA competitions. I usually performed well, nearly missing a chance to go to the national competition. However, that dream quickly died after taking chemistry and a course called introduction to disease. I was in love with the biological and chemical sciences. I could not get enough. So I majored in Biotechnology.I have always done all I can to keep myself in the laboratory. I asked to work on my professor's projects, took many non-core biology classes, tutored and mentored my classmates and held a part-time position working as a laboratory technician in the school's laboratory. I was very fortunate that Endicott forced me to take a semester-long internship which exposed me to new methods I would never have seen without. My first position out of college was a way to get a foothold in the biotech industry. I was able to demonstrate my knowledge show that I am willing to wok hard to finish what was assigned to me and always looked to learn more about the theory behind the techniques I was using. After the position as a production laboratory technician I was able to convince the director to allow me 10 hours a week in the research department. Eventually, room opened up in the quality team, so I decided moving in that direction was the correct next step. Now that I am in the quality department, my drive has not faded. I am constantly looking for new projects and opportunities to satisfy my urge to do and learn more. My position in the quality team has allowed me to greatly improve my technique as my data can be compared directly to my past assays, and those of my colleagues. Additionally, working in the same company, but in a new group, allows me to continuously share the insight that I gained to new technicians hired in the production team. However, this is only where I am now. Who knows where my passion will take me next?

Reasearch Associate Ii
Independently designed, executed and analyzed both end-point and qPCR experiments to expedite assay time to result through development of an equivalently yielding two-step PCR protocol adapted from a nominal three-step process. Consolidated documented data into development reports written to educate management and grant donors on progress of development process. Evaluated viability of assay internal control candidates by monitoring competitive inhibition of panel target amplification, cross-reactivity with particle designed to detect other panel targets and its own amplicon yield
Scientific Associate
Designed and executed experiments to develop formulations and applications of assay mixes which incorporate novel enzymes produced by the protein development team Independently analyzed qPCR and enzyme kinetic assay data to benchmark newly developed enzymes to understand the niche they would occupy in the market
Quality Control Technician Ii
Independently performed, document and analyze results of quality control assays for manufactured product release (enzyme product purity and specific activity determination, quantification of impurity/contamination levels) Proactively support continuous process improvement initiatives by developing, troubleshooting, revising and reviewing SOPs, qualification/validation protocols and reports for genomics reagents Trained new hires to quickly integrate them into the team’s core workflow
Quality Control Technician I
As a quality control technician, my core responsibilities lie in verification of enzyme concentrates and dilutions, reaction buffer and qPCR master mix quality. My other responsibilities are focused on supporting the product qualification process. I perform validations of quality control assays, produce substrates and buffers that are used in unit characterization and other assays, manage inventory and help to maintain the laboratory. While in this role, I provide continuous support to the production team by training and supervising new production technician and facilities employees.
