Seasoned education and public service professional seeking new opportunities to make a difference. I have worked in education for 27 years at the classroom, campus, district, state, and national levels. I started my career at Killeen High School, where I taught social studies for ten years. After completing a Master’s Degree, I went to work at the Texas Education Agency, where I managed dropout prevention programs. I then served as Director of Dropout Prevention for Houston ISD before joining Talent Development Secondary at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, where I worked on school turnaround projects in Austin, San Antonio, Tulsa, and Los Angeles. After four years, I moved to San Antonio and joined the management staff of City Year San Antonio as Managing Director of Impact. In 2019, I returned to Central Texas to be near and help care for family. I returned to the classroom and was a history teacher in Killeen ISD during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am looking for something new in the fields of education, policy, program management, civil/community service, social services, and related fields. I won’t leave Central Texas, but I’ll drive a bit and get things done of remote.
