My team (2 sub contractors) and I were tasked with discovering, implementing and optimizing many facets of the warehouse from receiving, put away, replenishment, picking, and more. We created and implemented original theoretical constructs to enhance picking first by 5%, then on iteration 2 by over 30%. Finally, with all phases of our optimization process now in production, the work load is currently estimated to be reduced by an astonishing 50%. This has allowed the client to complete the expansion of the warehouse, and lower prices to stimulate the more that doubling of sales.I found the challenge and combination of mathematical theory, software simulations, and real-world implementations to be fascinating, invigorating and a very rewarding experience, not to mention incredible value for my client.
