I was the Chair of a pre-school group, responsible for strategic planning, staffing, financial management, budget setting and ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations and OfSted requirements. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I provided strategic oversight of the Museum and its operations, working with the rest of the Board to set policy and direction and to ensure the Museum remained both financially sustainable and relevant to the audiences we sought to serve. I relinquished this role to become the Museum Director and lead the organisation on a day to day basis.

In this role, I worked with Dean and Chapter to set the strategic vision of Gloucester Cathedral. The Council was responsible for the scrutiny of financial accounts and budgets. I also engaged with different communities to ensure the Cathedral was relevant to all people in Gloucester, regardless of faith.

As First Citizen, I represented the people of the City of Gloucester at civic, community and ceremonial events within the City and beyond. I chaired all meetings of Gloucester City Council and engaged with all communities to promote the City and its unique heritage. I also engaged very regularly with the media, both broadcast and print, to promote the City.

I was Second in Department in the English department. In this role I taught English and English Literature to all ages and abilities from 11-18 and helped manage the staff in the department. I worked with the Subject Leader to plan the delivery of the curriculum, to analyse data and develop strategies to enable all pupils to fulfil their potential and ensured teaching and learning continually developed and improved.

I was a teacher of English in a secondary school. I taught all age and abilities from 11-16.
