The duties of this position include overseeing construction tasks such as design, surveys, finance, estimates, permitting for fiber as well as coax builds. Field work includes utility commission meetings, site visits to strengthen the working relationship with customer and business partners while allowing the opportunity to keep the builds top notch with quality control inspections.

Primary responsibilities in this role were handling the core side of fiber installations for all Metro-E and cell back haul customers. Documentations and database creation for project tracking. I also initiated and oversaw night fiber work both inside and in the field for conversions, upgrade and Equipment migrations also. Service outage on-call response 24/7 on a rotating schedule.

Portland, Oregon Area

My role in this position was to install all aspects of fiber Metro-E, cell back haul and wholesale customers. Our team ran the core fibers in the headends, installed, configured and tested the site equipment. We provided BVE, SIP, PRI phone configurations with testing as well. A big part of this role was to provide night support for fiber upgrades and support our contractors in the field while maintaining minimal downtime. We had a rotating on-call which provided 24/7 support.

My main work duty was the installation of a suite of business products. Internet, networking hardwired and wireless. Also PRI, SIP, twisted pair and voice edge phone products. On the residential side of business I installed and supported the Xfinity Home Security product. This involved running CAT6 for cameras, setting up wifi extenders, sensor placement and basic customer education for the system. From the year 2000 I have been involved with the advancement of the video services from pre/post digital transition to now with our X1 and streaming services.

Responsibilities include in-depth repair of CATV equipment by means of solder/desoldering circuit board devices, power supply testing, reprogramming internal micro-processors and rack testing all equipment. Other skills are warehouse management. Spectrum analyzer, VOM and breadboard isolation tests used heavily.
