As my role is fairly broad, I have also had the opportunity to develop the frontend MVPs in React, as well as develop internal reporting tools for our resume parsing and resume redacting products.

Working part-time and remotely within the Kaizen team, I develop internal production products that improve and automate our production processes of Total Knee Replacement surgeries. Writing mainly in Python, I have developed standalone production tools as well as plugins for Synopsis Simpleware, VBA addins to Dassault Systèmes Solidworks and scripting of Autodesk Powershape. I save the production team manual labour and freeing up engineers to develop, research and improve patient outcomes in TKA surgery. All development is conducted within an ISO13485 certified QMS to ensure high quality of released product and to control risks effectively, utiltiesing unit and integration testing, manual performance qualification and detailed documentation.Additionally, I am training three other engineers in developing Python applications for our production team, setting industry-standard code style, testing and deployment standards in order to maintain future maintainability and ease of development.

Working across the Navigation, Production and Kaizen teams, I used my mechanical design and process optimisation experience to develop prototype instruments and internal production products. The other significant part of my role was to plan Total Knee Replacement surgeries, incorporating customer bookings, segmentation of landmarking of CT scans, Simulation in ADAMS and report generation. Achievements : - Working with the Navigation team, I was brought on to design a suite of navigation instruments for a pre-submission and conformity assessment, incorporating optical markers, Steinmann pin interfaces and cutting block adaptors to function with a variety of implant models.- Within the Kaizen team I grew my Python skillset, developing a large upgrade to production-critical plugin package to Simpleware ScanIP as well as automating other processes. Alongside this I started building a production framework for internal Python development including development in PyCharm, testing with Tox/pytest, documentation in Sphnix and deployment using PyInstaller. Using this framework I am training a group of three other engineers in the Kaizen team to develop internal production tools.

Working closely with senior product design engineers, marketing and sales representatives, I designed custom instruments for orthopaedic surgeons to fulfil niche clinical needs and develop new products to facilitate new techniques. Achievements : - Working within an ISO 13485 certified QMS I designed over 30 instruments across our hip, knee, shoulder and spine portfolios, primarily using Unigraphics NX. These projects ranged from basic modifications all the way to novel instrumentation for new techniques (two patents pending). Starting with 3D printed prototypes for surgeon evaluation, concepts were refined and drawings completed to ASME Y14.41.- Completed extensive non-linear FEA for three different instruments in ANSYS, driving the iterative design process and later verifying design robustness in lab testing.

Located at Knox Private hospital, this position was a great introduction to the surgical and hospital environment, giving me insights into the user needs of the medical staff. Duties included:- Diagnose, repair and calibrate medical devices in a hospital environment- Support hospital staff in the proper use of equipment to minimise future equipment failures- Conduct area testing of wards and safety testing of medical equipment

- Working with the Suspension Leader to manage sixteen students in the design, manufacture, testing and analysis of suspension components for the 2014 car, through the Australian, English and German Formula SAE competitions- Design, analyse and test the wishbones for the 2014 car, including research and feasibility studies for a potential move to carbon fibre construction- Review and approve all technical drawings given to the students manufacturing parts at Chisholm TAFE
