Chris is a stakeholder management and policy development expert working in the Queensland Department of Primary Industries' Agriculture Policy Division. This has involved contributing to key government responses and initiatives including the response to Panama Disease, sugar marketing policy and the whole of Government biofutures (industrial biotechnology) initiative. Transitioning into Government from the Contracts and Procurement division of QGC (the proponent of Queensland’s largest ever capital project), Chris brings with him experience in contract development, tendering, accessing supply chain opportunities and compliance with local business participation legislation. A qualified ISO 9000:2000 Internal Auditor, Chris has undertaken roles auditing or undertaking on-site inspections of businesses including compliance with legislative, systems or contractual requirements. Local business participation remains a passion of Chris’ as he considers that creating and delivering opportunities for communities to benefit from a business' presence is essential to building support for its activities and contributing to the sustainability of ongoing operations. Beyond the resource sector Chris has worked within government as a “circuit breaker” resolving regulatory and land use issues between all stakeholders including Government departments.
