About Chris Devries
Chris retired from the financial services industry in 2016 after a distinguished 30 year career as a senior executive with local banking institutions. She was widely regarded for delivering an exceptional banking experience to clients and the greater community, and for her ability to inspire passion for excellence in the many employee teams she nurtured over the years. After retirement, Chris ran a successful consulting practice focused on sales management, client relationship management, and employee engagement and development. Today, Chris volunteers her vast experience and positive energy to her community. Since 2016 she has been involved with the work of the Community Environmental Council (CEC) where she currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors. CEC, recognized as a 2020 non-profit of the year, advances rapid and equitable solutions to the Climate crisis. In 2022, Chris was honored to join the Board of the National Search Dog Foundation where she instantly connected with SDF’s mission of strengthening disaster response in America by rescuing and recruiting dogs and partnering them with first responders to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters. Chris has raised funds and chaired various committees for numerous nonprofits in the Santa Barbara area and has been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International, for contributions to her community. Chris has served on the Boards of Bishop Garcia Diego High School, Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce, Girls Inc of Carpinteria and the Coast Village Association. Chris received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware.
