We could quickly identify areas of improvement, push conversion rates and KPI’s to levels we had not thought possible.The combination worked with Lifebroker growing from a small base to the largest specialist life insurance broker in Australia, with over 70 staff.Lifebroker operates under its own brand, but also provides life insurance services for a range of strategic alliance partners. Within the mortgage space we secured alliances with Mortgage Choice, Plan, Connective, Loan Market, Homeside, Loankit, online alliances were secured with Comparethemarket, Yahoo, Youcompare, HelpmeChoose and a range of other organisations. Over the last 5 years Lifebroker undertook 3 equity raisings, with Dai-ichi Life (through TAL Australia) taking a strategic stake in the business in 2011.In early 2013 with rapid growth we had a number of strategic options to consider, undertake a large equity raising and examine the partial, or full sale of the business. Dai-ichi Life expressed an interest in full equity ownership, negotiations commenced and the full sales of the business was completed in October 2013.I remained with the company until January 2014. We expanded the Lifebroker model to the UK market in 2008. We utilised the UK market as a test-bed and a potential roadmap for Lifebroker AU operations.

Fundbroker was the pioneering Australian website offering discounted access to boutique and specialist investments. The site generated over $200m of placements into investment products ranging from Property Trusts, Hedge Funds, Capital Guaranteed Products, Guaranteed Pensions, IPO’s and Income Funds.The business was sold to Fairfax Media.

I created the first online platform for fee for service financial planning. I made the site just to test the waters and monitor how quickly consumer attitudes and comfort levels for digital interaction was changing. The site generated way more traffic and leads, and requests for financial plans than we could have anticipated. I sold the business to permit focus on Lifebroker.
