Mentor junior team members to further develop their technical skills and abilities to provide customers with excellence in customer service while maximizing efficiency and productivity.Noteworthy Accomplishments: • Acted as the technical lead on a project that upgraded the controls on one of the rotating frequency convertors which provides 25 Hz, single-phase power to Amtrak’s northeast corridor. This project is the first ever upgrade to the system since it was installed in 1934, system upgrades include: synchronous motor and generator excitation, balance of plant motor control, motor protection, 25 Hz generator protection, PLC control and monitoring, HMI system and data historian. Leading a team of 4 engineers and craftspeople. Responsible for sub-contracting to installation contractors and customer’s personnel. Also consulted on the upgrade of the protective relaying system surrounding the 35,000Hp synchronous motor and 30,000 Kw synchronous, single phase, 25 Hz generator.
