A very experienced Program Director and Alliance Executive General Manager delegated responsibility by HMS and DGMSS for the Program Directorship of the AUS$ 6 billion ANZAC Ship Project, and simultaneously as the ANZAC System Program Office Director for through life support. Lead an established multi disciplinary Project team to deliver the last five ships and close out the ship build project. Concurrently, developed an early prototype sustainment team in multiple geographic locations nationally and internationally into a large fully Technically Regulatory compliant team of Navy, DMO, and Defence Industry to deliver through life support and a technical support network for the modification and repair of the ANZAC Frigate in-service assets with AUS$ 400m in recurrent support costs and over AUS$1billion under rolling project management. A sabbatical break followed, working in the: Utilities industry for Western Power as the Manager Transmission Primary Engineering, the Iron Ore Mining Industry as a Senior Program Manager; and in shipbuilding/heavy engineering as the Program Director and for the Forgacs AWD Program. Returned from that break to be back in uniform initially as the Director Navy Engineering Policy with concurrent responsibilities for the establishment of a Program Management Office to manage the Naval Engineering Branch output. After that I was posted to CASG to take up the Directorship and establishment of the new Patrol Boat SPO organization using a new ISS contract to improve availability to meet operational requirements, . After an enormously successful 3 1/2 years in Darwin, where we recovered the availability, reliability, and program management of the Armidale and Cape Class Patrol Boats, with the recognition of the Essington Lewis Award with our ISS Contractor Thales. Posted back to Canberra mid 2020 to take up a temporary position with Specialist Ships Branch I finished CFTS, and transferred to the Reserve at the end of 2022. After filling in as the Hydrographic SPO D, and generally assisting the Hydro SPO D I finally retired from the RAN on Jue 30th 2024.
