Responsible for the P&L and Operation of the Airwave network business. In this role Chris leads a high performing network operation team of over 200 people. His role encompasses accountability for the Core Operation P&L generating in excess of £400m Revenue per annum and ensuring that all Operational Service Level Agreements are maintained and customer satisfaction measures achieved. Key achievements in this role include implementation of significant efficiency and service improvements whilst maintaining outstanding service standards

Chris established the Airwave Core Customer Service and Sales team, which brought together all customer facing teams into one cohesive organisation of over 100 people. This included Core Sales, Service Relationship Managers and the Airwave service desk. During this period Chris implemented a number of key changes, including developing the SRM community into a more account management sales organisation, enabling the sales team to focus on larger deals. Sales targets of £33m per annum were exceeded throughout the period and outstanding customer satisfaction measures achieved

In this role, Chris was responsible for a broad range of transformation and cost saving projects. This included an organisation rightsizing initiative delivering cost savings in excess of £30m per annum, and the development and implementation of a number of ground breaking leadership development programmes, which helped shape and change the culture of the organisation.

In this role Chris was responsible for all aspects of the Home Affairs and Security Line of business within Airwave (Police and Security Sector), this included full responsibility for a P&L of £300m, network performance for all Police customers, sales targets of £50m per annum, responsibility for all service targets and customer satisfaction and leadership of a team of over 100 people. Throughout this period all targets were achieved or exceeded.

This role included the Leadership of a cross-functional Team responsible for customer satisfaction and sales performance for the existing customer base within the North of England and Scotland. Key achievements included the generation of business growth of over £15m p.a and the achievement of outstanding levels of customer satisfaction

North Of England And Scotland

Responsible for the design, build and delivery of the Airwave Communications Network for all 22 Police customers in the North and Scotland, including budgetary Management of all roll out and in-life costs of the Airwave Service – some £100m. driving the design and delivery of the Airwave Service in order to secure revenue streams to the value of £78m per annum and the development and management of relationships with customers, suppliers and partners in order to ensure the delivery of the service to time, cost and quality.

North Yorkshire

Responsible for the delivery of a programme to rationalise the number of Force Communication Centres from 7 to 2 releasing efficiency savings of £3m per annum. This included securing budgetary and operational approval for the design and delivery of two new purpose built Communication Centres and the leadership of a multi-disciplinary team (including Senior Operational Police Officers) in order to ensure the effective delivery of and transition to, the new Communication Centres. Chris was responsible for the delivery of the complete programme providing an end-to-end service from the design and build of the new Communication Centres through to the implementation of complete communication (including the introduction of the Airwave Service to North Yorkshire Police) and I.T systems and the transition, training and recruitment of staff. Through the period of transition to in-life operation of the Control Rooms Chris was responsible for their performance and the leadership of over 80 civilian and Police Communications personnel.
