This included oversight of all BIAP checkpoints, the Quick Reaction Force teams, terminal aviation security screening teams and G4S operations room personnel. Other responsibilities included: daily assessment of the security threat level to the airport; standardization, practice and compliance of standard operating procedures; the design and implementation of airport emergency response plans; and daily liaison with the client, foreign embassies and private security companies. This included: static guard force-protection around the airport; an aviation security screening team within the airport; a pre-screening checkpoint outside of the airport; a security escort team and Quick Reaction Force - a staff of 160 (Expats, Nepalese and Iraqis). By implementing effective security procedures and management of each security element, my team ensured the protection of the airport terminal building, its perimeter and the safe passage of staff, passengers and visitors to the airport. I also worked closely with Iraqi officials, the U.S. Military and the U.S. Department of State.
