I'm passionate about ensuring that Torridge and North Devon are at the heart of economic growth in the area, and that our communities and environment both benefit from that growth as part of a Just Transition.My teaching background ensures that skills and social mobility are the heart of my mindset, alongside the need to work in strong partnerships to achieve shared goals- as demonstrated by the dynamic partnerships across the region, including with North Devon Council, North Devon+ and the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere to deliver our North Devon and Torridge Economic Strategy and the North Devon and Torridge Clean Maritime Vision.The team I manage oversees a range of activities from town centre regeneration and place marketing to cultural development, leisure and wellbeing, nature tourism support and also running the Castle Hill Work Hub in Great Torrington.With projects including support for the local aquaculture industry through to the Appledore Clean Maritime Innovation Centre, agricultural decarbonisation to community ownership of a training hotel, there really is a lot going on down here for partners to get involved in!
