My first experience in financial services involved conversations with clients beaming with pride as they described what they had built and the people they had worked so hard to build it for. These conversations shaped my view of the important role we can play in people's lives when providing financial services effectively and efficiently. Helping these clients protect what they had built and plan for the future they wanted was a privilege I could never take lightly. Since then I have worked in Compliance and Operational Risk roles, in Line 1 and Line 2, effectively balancing risk appetite, commercial objectives and customer outcomes. I truly believe that effective risk management and compliance go hand-in-hand with great customer outcomes.
