I worked full time for Stuga for a few months bedding in the new MRP software system and running their spares /stores side of the business.These duties also included reducing purchasing costs, sourcing new suppliers and building and maintaining relationships with all suppliers and end users.

My main role was the setup, installation & support the software for controlling and running third party CNC machinery for the customers. Most installs would last about a week and I was based at the customers premises (anywhere in UK, or Ireland) for this time. Set up work was normally carried out at home, although, I did also do set up work in the evenings of installs if required. I liaised with customers, machinery engineers (who were mainly German or Polish), Software developers and managed the machining side of the projects from start to finish and included working through problems to their conclusion. This sometimes required working with the programmers to create specifications for upgrades and changes to the software to deal with new features / machines. As such, I played a key role in the development of machining side of the Business Micros “Evolution” software translating my previous industry knowledge into a working solution. During my time with Business Micros, I installed about 120 cutting and prepping centres. I provided initial support to these customers which involved making additions to their data, logging on remotely to diagnose and solve problems. I also trained the in-house support technicians and a few other operatives on the Machining side of the software. I also installed and configured all other software provided by Business Micros which included deployment of IIS web based applications as necessary as well as the standard software. Show less
