Director, Sport & Exercise Psychologist
I am currently working in both the on-field performance environment and clinical setting to assist athletes in making long lasting positive changes to their mindset to improve consistency of performance. My fundamental interest areas focus on enhancing athletes mental resilience and improving athletes mental resources in relation to performance (skill acquisition and execution). To enable athletes mindsets to grow and change I utilise a variety of modern mental skills training techniques, including visualisation, mindfulness, as well as individual work focussed on maladaptive mental limitations (e.g., self-talk, belief systems, fear, ad negative expectations). Enhancing the mindset is focussed on allowing the athletes to gain a higher level of understanding about the power of the mind. By doing this the athlete can clearly identify their unique goals, ambitions, ideal level of performance and requirements both on and off the field. By being open to these techniques and strategies the athlete is able to learn to control the mind, rather than the mind controlling their behaviours and actions. Through this control a higher and more consistent level of performance will emerge.
