Responsible daily to calculate and set current inventory costs. Compiled Monthly reports and accounted for all inventory and money associated with the inventory. • Coordinated with 15 key sales representatives to ensure timely and accurate shipments.• Worked closely with our inventory locations across the United States and mills from around the world to ensure timely and accurate shipments. Shipments from overseas also required me to work with Import Brokers, Steamship lines, Customs and Ports to have timely retrieval and delivery of containers minimizing bottom line costs. • Responsible for order entry into an AS400 operating system and daily invoicing of material delivered to customers.• Coordinated with inspectors across the United States to resolve customer complaints or claims. When applicable I would also generate Debit Memos to the mills and Credit Memos to our customers. • Developed and maintained EXCEL spreadsheets that were used for tracking inventories, shipments, costs and invoicing.

The Portland facility currently employs 275 employees and process 800K tons of steel annually: • Responsible for 4 direct supervisors and 30 indirect operators and 600K tons of plate annually.• Coordinated with 10 key sales representatives to ensure timely and accurate plate shipment.• Worked closely with the planning department to ensure the production schedule effective served the customer service needs based on daily priority.• Responsible for maintaining 95% on time and complete shipment performance. I lead and coordinated efforts with all departments to insure that the 95% target was always attained.• Assumed additional responsibilities that included the monthly forecasting of Oregon Steel Mill’s total shipments. This role involved close communication and coordination with the Plant Manager.• Designed and developed a program to identify all current orders and establish a production and ship schedule based on targeted ship dates and backwards scheduling using departmental cycle times. This report was created to improve end of month forecast accuracy.• Responsible for interviewing and selecting candidates for lead and operator positions

• Responsible for determining, planning and implementing coil yard logistics that included the receipt, storage and retrieval of raw materials.• Facilitated the operation of computer programming that tracked coil location, defined it current working status, determined readiness to ship and defined shipping methods.• Assisted with development efforts to design and manufacture material handling devices to uncoil and cut wraps off coils and of equipment to load coils onto rail cars. Both devices were designed to reduce the risk of workplace injury and improve performance efficiency.
