I'm a standout creator of political campaign newsletters, flyers, video, social media adverts and supporting digital content, and of supporter media/comms including training, digital infrastructure, and fundraising comms; and an accomplished strategist and facilitator.I'm available flexibly by the day for political consultancy. After 8 years working full-time in local government management, I've retrained with a GradDip in Psychology and an MA in Political Psychology, and spent 4½ years as an unpaid organiser central to Bournemouth Green Party's climb from one BCP councillor before 2019 to six after 2023. I've also been a sessional trainer and board member in the broad peace movement. My specialist skills are ones that radical political movements everywhere would benefit from - but rarely have resources to offer specialist salaries for. I'm re-entering the paid workforce after my Masters as self-employed rather than employed. (I have an easy-come-easy-go 'second job' freelance which fills in; I am now available for political consultancy work by the day, at around a week's notice or less.)In 2017, I made BBC Trending with a pop-up indie #StopTheTories Facebook advertising and fundraising project for GE17. I retain from that a Facebook page with over 10,000 followers, and ideas to resurrect an indie anti-Tory PAC for GE24 on a larger pro scale.I've volunteered extensively in LGBTQ community organising and content. My background spans external and internal (strategic) comms, community facilitation and development, research, video production, social advertising, crowdfunding, website concept and basic design, newsletters, journalism, handbooks and intranets, both sides of funding bids, consultation, event management, boots-on-the-ground and digital organising... and training materials and workshops. From my psych and PolPsych studies, I'm passionate more broadly about organisational development of campaign supporters at every level of the pyramid, influenced by Sanders/Obama Big Organising principles, less hierarchical Occupy/XR self-organising systems, and Hahrie Han's work. From my first career in local government management, I also remain geekily enthusiastic about contemporary distributed governance more generally, and direct support to elected councillors.[Given all the community management and comms work I've done on an unpaid basis, much of it while not in paid work, trad CV separation of paid and voluntary work doesn't help tell my story or where I'm currently at. Some roles marked as unpaid are included with my paid work history below.]

Freelance Political ConsultantGreen House Media & Comms Feb 2024 - PresentMy first paying client: Dorset Green Party for LE24 - commission through the Campaign Manager to produce printed ward campaign materials, new localised social media presences, and [pending] paid social media advertising.I am currently available to other Green Party election campaigns or organisations for political consultancy work by the day, at around a week's notice or less. Very open also to any freelancer market development reachouts from campaign groups in other sectors. To my knowledge, Green Party campaigns won't find another internal freelancer as ready as myself to produce and place paid social media adverts (Facebook or Instagram, including video ads; YouTube also fully possible), within the party's Target To Win messaging and distribution frameworks. Quantitative outcomes from my social media ads for BCP Green Party was the topic of reflective study for my MA Political Psychology dissertation [with extensive further research data also collected on candidates' perceptions of qualitative outcomes].

Target Ward(S) Campaign Manager [Unpaid]Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Green Party Dec 2018 - Nov 2022BournemouthI was Target Ward Campaign Manager for Cllr Simon Bull and Chris Rigby in the 2019 BCP Council elections. With innovative geotargeted Facebook video ads, integrating content from ward newsletters, deployed in addition to a full Green Party Target To Win programme, Simon won re-election with 63% of the vote and Chris R gained his seat with 55%, unseating a Conservative councillor on a 25.3% swing and racking up Bournemouth's biggest ward majorities (by %).I continued to operate in this capacity at a lower level for most of the long campaign through to LE23, until relieved by the commencement of Kate Salmon's staff Campaign Organiser post in December 2022. I strongly supported the rapid activation of Moordown from Summer 2021 into a full target ward, and the early newsletters and Facebook video ads to new(ish) development ward Queen's Park & Charminster.[LinkedIn profile under reconstruction as at Jan 2024 - more narrative and further media to follow soon]

Coordinator [Unpaid]Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Green Party Jul 2019 - Sep 2021Bournemouth, United KingdomI inherited the internal leadership of an organisation that I'd very recently helped to an expectations-exceeding council election double win, but which had a lot of entrenched problems.- coordinated joined up and effective Media & Comms activity, running effective social media channels with substantial traction, and achieving prominent sub-regional media coverage- piloted local party reorganisation, making members' monthly meetings enjoyable and empowering, building a set of working groups on 'distributed' principles and a coordination group to greatly improve back-end organisation, developing reporting systems, and introducing an HR and due diligence framework, - empowered our politicians (councillors and major candidates) to develop and track powerful messages and build relationships- piloted open space technology and helped facilitate people's assemblies - and more generally a culture where the meanings of local Green Party activism and the conversations they participate in are constructed by each active member for themselves, rather than imposed from the top- used "digital party" principles through embedding of Slack communication (with tailored training provided) - helped ground activity in our new target ward to launch at a high standard, and drove improvement of year-round ground standards in our held ward- brought through several new excellent key activists- achieved an essential increase in monthly income- oversaw the local implementation of the Green Party of England & Wales switch from the Civi database to Action Network- proactively dealt with serious member conduct issues, to the benefit of the group's wellbeing
