Written in C# on the .NET Framework and using a Microsoft Access database for data management, FACIT was a stand-alone graphical user interface intended to work entirely offline. This tool allowed the Weapons System Manager (WSM) to go in-country to work with their foreign partner in making purchasing and logistical decisions. Key capabilities included pulling up technical support documents, pictures, detailed equipment specifications, and recording partner decisions. A cumbersome process that was performed across multiple Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, thousands of PDF documents and image files on CD was condensed down to a single application with everything the WSM and foreign partner needed for decision making.Tasked with the additional role of maintaining and distributing the US Navy's domestic support equipment standalone management tools for the V-22 and H-53 aircraft programs. Both legacy tools took multiple Microsoft Access databases and days of manpower to integrate monthly updates. I worked to redesign both using C# .NET Framework Winforms to stream-line the data import process and reduce manual effort required. These improvements resulted in a 90% decrease in labor hours for the U.S. government and due to automation reduced human error.Worked to relocate the ASSET21 tool’s hosting to the U.S. DoD’s Security Cooperation Information Portal (SCIP). Taking the current iteration of the tool from a .Net Framework and Webforms project and modernizing it to an ASP.Net Core MVC WebAPI with user authentication based on Common Access Card (CAC) mechanisms.Maintained a secret clearance. This platform housed data on approximately 30,000 unique pieces of aircraft support equipment and their associated technical manuals, images, and logistical tracking data.In anticipation of migrating ASSET21 to the government’s cloud hosting at the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP), the application’s data repository was converted from Microsoft SQL Server to Oracle Database. This encompassed all stored procedures, tables, indexes, and triggers.Managed day-to-day user requests for custom reporting, new user accounts, and user terminations.Worked with the US Navy's FMS ASSET 21 administrator to implement enhancements to the tool as required. Some of these enhancements included, financial reconciliation, bulk-data import from Microsoft Excel, automated email notifications, and one-off PowerPoint data slides.Maintained a secret clearance. This two-part application consisted of a VB.Net windows service running on each station and Microsoft SQL Server on a local server. The second aspect was a VB.Net Winform that could be run on a technician’s system to have a heads up window displaying system status. This system was responsible for monitoring approximately 500 active POS and administrative stations and gave management a “bird’s eye” view of which stations required attention. Most times service technicians could be dispatched to a failure before the end user was aware.Developed a VB.Net GUI application that made heavy use of Windows Management Interface (WMI) for the remote management of our administrative and point-of-sale systems. This gave our technicians the ability to remotely patch, control, update, restart services, message users, and reboot stations.Coordinated and assisted in the migration of 350 administrative Windows XP stations from a Novell Netware/Groupwise environment to an Active Directory/Outlook environment. This process involved transferring all user documents to secure storage, preparing a custom system image for each model PC, re-imaging each machine, and assisting each user with logging in for the first time.Developed and deployed an Ubuntu/Clonezilla Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) multicast server to expedite the cloning of system images to our POS systems. Previously this process was done with a thumbdrive requiring the technician to image each machine individually. What once took several days and five technicians could be done in two by a single technician.Provided day-to-day operational and technical support to 300 end-users and managed a seasonal team of five to six POS technicians.
