I am a classroom teacher specializing in helping students with autism achieve academic, behavioral, and social skills goals. I do this at Bridgeway House a regional non-profit providing a wide range of services to children and families with autism headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Many of my students have come to Bridgeway House from more traditional classrooms in several area school districts. My work requires me to build and manage an effective team for each student including myself, the family, and my team of educational assistants. I consider this challenging work to be my calling, and a privilege.Prior to working at Bridgeway House, I served students with social communication challenges in grades K through post-HS in a district-wide position in a large public school district. I provided staff trainings in elementary, middle, and high schools to increase the district’s capacity to serve these students.
