Award-winning Senior Account Manager - media and digital communications - at Dudley Council helping the authority communicate and engage with the 300,000+ residents of the borough as well as businesses and the media.One of my key roles is leading on media relations and developing new, digital ways of communicating with people and organisations. I lead on the innovative online community forums connecting with thousands of people online every year. The council was the first in the country to hold a public meeting via social media and won a national award - the UK Public Sector Communications Awards campaign of the year. We were also finalists in the UK Social Media Awards.Other work includes social media and digital communications training for senior colleagues and politicians as well as supporting on marketing campaigns and civic events.I am a fully qualified journalist with almost a decade experience at the forefront of news reporting on a busy daily newspaper.
