Chris is a strong communicator with the ability to solve complex company problems using excellent judgment and decision-making skills. He is Christchurch-born, and after completing his education at Shirley Boy’s High School, he joined the family business.Since then, Chris has worked in every facet of Switched On’s business operations including: site labourer;office administration; work scoping; resource coordination and programming; business development;quality assurance; contract management; general management; to strategy development and implementation.Since 2004, Chris has directed operations of the Switched On trade services businesses in Christchurch and Wellington, and was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Group in 2018.Chris is a strong advocate of continual upskilling and helps his team to expand their knowledge, develop new skills or improve existing ones. He leads by example, undertaking several executive programmes, including completing ‘The Icehouse’ Business Owner Manager Programme in association with the University of Auckland Business School. This Programme is an in-depth leadership, business development and management training course designed to provide the participant with the skills, clarity and support to hone their strategic business plan, become a better leader and drive their business forward. 2018 saw Chris starta more intensive Owner/President program with Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. This course will take place over three years and see him graduate in 2020. Chris is also passionate about giving back to the industry as an Executive Committee Member on both the Canterbury Master Builders Association and Association of Walls and Ceilings Industries. He is committed to promoting higher professional standards in the construction industry,driving a point of difference and providing a customer centric experience.
