My career in Information Technology started as a data entry associate with a small brokerage firm in Charleston, SC. This job ignited my passion with Computers and Computer Networks. Back in the days of Windows 3.11 it was the birth of new technology and new hardware. Everything was new and exciting which fit my passion to learn. Since then, I was able to find a home at Santee Cooper which nurtured both my passion for computers and the freedom to discover. I’ve held several position including Hardware Break/Fix technician, Helpdesk analyst, IT analyst, Security analyst and Supervisor. Given my diverse skills and training I was promoted to Supervisor of IT Operations over the 24hr data centers. During my stint as IT Operations Supervisor I assisted in the development of 2 new Data Centers and redesigned the primary DC. Once completed, I move back to the IT Security department to continue my cybersecurity professional development. During my time as a Security Analyst, I was offered an opportunity to cross train as the Supervisor of System SCADA. Even though the time was short, I am grateful for the business experience I obtained. This allowed me to secure the role as the Senor Compliance Specialist to assist in development and monitoring of our NERC CIP Compliance program. During my term, I was blessed to be a member of a very diverse team that went through two NERC CIP audits and the transition to CIP Version 5 for the HI Control Centers. Now I am in the role of Manager, Platform Services. I am currently responsible for the IT/OT partnership where my team provides maintenance, support and cybersecurity for the operational environments.
