Having qualified as an RMN in 1989 I have worked across a wide variety of mental health specialisms. These included day hospitals, community mental health teams, court diversion within the criminal justice service before arriving at the Adult Liaison Team in 1998. I worked with this team developing it's remit until 2009. During that time, we worked at a local level developing services, consolidating best practice with the Coroner’s office in Derbyshire and also contributed at a national level, working with the government on legislation for over the counter medication, the numbers available to buy and its' packaging. We were also involved with a number of research projects and were instrumental in setting up the multi centre monitoring program, the biggest ongoing study of self harm in the world.I moved to CAMHS and I was asked to set up the CAMHS RISE team. The CAMHS RISE model was recognised locally and nationally and as a result the model was featured in a number of publications at a national level. I was asked to sit as a standing member of the Expert Reference Group of National Collaborative Centre for Mental Health an initiative sponsored by NHSE to inform NICE guidelines. I had the pleasure of being invited on to and joining the Royal College of Paediatricians Mental Health Association. I was a member of the development team of the Derbyshire Self Harm in Schools training initiative. I routinely delivered training for Derbyshire Safeguarding Children's Board and CAMHS across our region.I work at Lister House group working predominantly with 20 year olds and under. I have received training at Masters level in CBT, other developmental opportunities have involved experiential psychodynamic psychotherapy and systemic work within CAMHS. I am also available for support and consultation to any member of staff at the surgery.
