Vice President and General Manager, E-ONE, Ocala, Florida. P&L responsibility for fire truck manufacturing operations and multiple departments which included purchasing, production scheduling, manufacturing operations, quality and ISO compliance, logistics, product and manufacturing engineering, customer service and environmental health and safety. I worked with dealers and customers to ensure exceptional customer service levels were met and exceeded from design review meetings through pickup/delivery. My responsibilities at E-ONE began as Manager of the Service Center and progressed through increasing levels of responsibility, including Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations. My team and I deployed multiple game changing improvements to the manufacturing process and facility; - De-coupled dependent processes and created queues to significantly improve flow.- Deployed a multitude of visual indicators and processes in place for teams to understand production targets, output objectives and improve performance.- Upgraded and improved customer service department problem solving tools and methods.- Upgraded outdated customer records process.- Planned and deployed equipment purchases and many process improvements to reduce multiple bottlenecks, improve workflow throughout the operation and eliminate single points of failure to hit schdule objectives.

Responsible for day to day manufacturing operations of multiple fire truck manufacturing lines and related departments which included body assembly, pump assembly, chassis prep, electrical prep and final assembly. Work with Industrial Engineering team to identify and address process improvement ideas, KPI definition and postings. - Reduced line stations by 6 stations to increase throughput and bolster cell activities - line balance.- Identified problem, and proposed what would become resolution, to single line concept which resulted in reset of lines and rebalance based on content. - Conducted Gemba walks weekly to review KPIs and worked and work with manufacturing teams to address any shortcomings or negative trends developing.- Participated in cross functional team to introduce new successful DX model, value brand product.

Collaborated with local and Corporate teams to establish a new business unit, team and processes to support post production fire truck modifications, refurbishment and accident repairs. I lead many workplace organization and improvement projects and implemented Lean Manufacturing principles to improve organizational efficiencies and ultimately throughput. Interacted with dealers and customers on a regular basis to ensure needs were met or exceeded and to develop growth-oriented relationships.- Locked down with a great team for three days for a SWOT analysis and created a plan for a new process and offering at the Florida facility - the Southeast Regional Service Center. - Moved all post production modifications to Service Center to remove bottlenecks created with re-entry to line and increase level of customization available to customers. - The Southeast Service Center process became the model for other locations.

Worked with a cross functional but small Engineering / Purchasing / Sales team to set up and launch a new fire truck production line in the Bradenton facility. I was responsible for multiple manufacturing departments across the value stream which included: welding, metal finishing and paint, final assembly and customer pickup. Worked through inventory shortages, Bills of Material changes and engineering changes as needed. I implemented corrective actions as needed to improve quality, address warranty requests and solve manufacturing problems. Developed and presented reports and monthly summaries on schedule status, labor efficiencies, safety and quality performance by manufacturing area. Developed plant wide manning requirements annually and for new product lines and developed departmental capital and expense budgets. Responsible for EH&S supervisor and all safety and environmental programs and compliance. - Pressure washed an entire building for 5 days :-)- Worked with multiple teams to setup all manufacturing processes to launch production.- Assisted with product / process / technology transfer from Appleton to Bradenton. - Achieved and exceeded production plan for multiple years. - Achieved 2 million man hours without a lost time accident.- Worked with cross funtional team to achieve the first ISO certification for the Florida facility.

Plan, coordinate and supervise daily activities of maintenance personnel. Develop facility wide capital projects and budgets to support production and growth plans. Conduct required OSHA training: Forklift Safety, Hazard Communication, HAZWOPER, Confined Space and Respiratory Protection. Maintain, complete and submit all required environmental compliance record keeping. - Under my span of environmental compliance responsibility, we had numerous FDEP standard surprise visits and never received a finding or recommendation from the FDEP. - During this same timeframe, as a team, we achieved 2 million manhours without a lost time accident.

Re-located manufacturing facilities from one location to another. Developed and planned equipment maintenance and service intervals at a world class boat manufacturing plant. Directed daily activities of maintenance personnel at two (production and R&D) facilities and lead plant wide facility improvement projects. Sourced all necessary parts for equipment repairs and managed all outside services and contracts for upkeep of facilities and equipment. Responsible for EH&S compliance; training, record keeping and report submittals. - My team and I relocated an entire manufacturing plant's equipment, processes and personnel to another location in 28 days without disruption.- As Environmental Manager, I worked with our Environmental Engineer to achieve one of the first Title V emissions permits for a boat plant in Florida.- Completely eliminated the use of Acetone in all processes.- Requested and invested in capital which successfully boosted production in an outdated woodshop.- Conducted HMIS labelling system use and application for all Manatee County Public Works Departments.
